Introduction
Yes, divorce is all too common today, and has become more prevalent than ever before. I remember when I was growing up in the 50s and 60s, not only was it rare, but scandalous.
Now our hearts have become hardened regarding divorce, considering it more acceptable, and often times necessary.
There are many reasons given to justify divorce such as, infidelity, emotional or physical abuse, “growing apart “, financial difficulties , loss of trust, lack of intimacy, and no longer wanting to be married, problems with in-laws, problems with children, etc.
However, regardless of the situation, divorce should be rare and not the only option for a solution to whatever problems may be.
If one considers what marriage actually is, a covenant between two people before God, a promise for life, not to be taken lightly even though the ups and downs that are inevitable in this life.
